A Nevada man made his initial appearance in federal court Thursday for allegedly making multiple threatening phone calls to an election worker in the Nevada Secretary of State\u2019s Office, according to officials.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Gjergi Luke Juncaj, aka Gjergj Juncaj, aka Gjurgi Juncaj, aka George Juncaj, 50, of Las Vegas, was arrested by the FBI Wednesday in Las Vegas.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to court documents, on Jan. 7, 2021, Juncaj allegedly made four threatening phone calls to an employee in the Elections Division of the Nevada Secretary of State\u2019s Office. According to the employee, the threats included:<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to thank you for such a great job you all did on stealing the election. I hope you all go to jail for treason. I hope your children get molested. You are all going to (expletive) die.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Juncaj is charged with four counts of making threatening telephone calls. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of two years in prison on each count. <\/span><\/p>\n

The FBI Las Vegas Field Office is investigating the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This case is part of the Justice Department\u2019s Election Threats Task Force. <\/span><\/p>\n

Announced by Attorney General Merrick B. Garland and launched by Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco in late June 2021, the task force is leading the department\u2019s efforts to address threats of violence against election workers, and to ensure that all election workers \u2014 whether elected, appointed\u00a0or volunteer \u2014 are able to do their jobs free from threats and intimidation. <\/span><\/p>\n
