Ltd.; Shin Woo Construction &amp; Industrial Co. Ltd.; Seongbo Const. Ind. Co. Ltd.; Wooseok Construction Co. Ltd.; Yuil Engineering and Construction Co.; and Seokwang Development Co. Ltd. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1073 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/criminal_justice_jurisprudence-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/criminal_justice_jurisprudence-2.jpg 299w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/criminal_justice_jurisprudence-2-120x76.jpg 120w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/criminal_justice_jurisprudence-2-265x168.jpg 265w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/criminal_justice_jurisprudence-2-284x180.jpg 284w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/criminal_justice_jurisprudence-2-274x173.jpg 274w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 299px) 100vw, 299px\" \/>The companies have agreed to each pay an equal share of the settlement amount.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-pr-body field--type-text-long field--label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__items\">\n<div class=\"field__item even\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The United States alleged the seven companies conspired to suppress and eliminate competition during the bidding process on 15 USACE contracts awarded between 2016 and 2019, officials stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The United States further alleged that as a result of this anticompetitive conduct, the USACE paid substantially more for services performed under the contracts than it would have had there been competition among the bidders.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u201cThe U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (Army CID) will hold accountable those who defraud the U.S. government, no matter where they are,\u201d said Special Agent in Charge Scott Moreland of the Army CID\u2019s Major Procurement Fraud Field Office. \u201cWe appreciate the steadfast partnership shown by our fellow federal agencies to bring this scheme to a halt.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0Assistant Director in Charge Kristi Johnson of the FBI&#8217;s Los Angeles Division said: \u201cSuch activity cheats American taxpayers while harming competitive markets. Simply put, collusion on contracts will not be tolerated; and this case sends a clear message that the FBI and its partners will hold individuals and corporations accountable when they violate federal statutes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The resolution obtained in this matter was the result of a coordinated effort between the Justice Department\u2019s Civil Division, Commercial Litigation Branch, Fraud Section; the Army CID Major Procurement Fraud Unit; the FBI\u2019s International Contract Corruption Task Force; and
