{"id":50219,"date":"2022-07-01T13:26:46","date_gmt":"2022-07-01T20:26:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=50219"},"modified":"2022-07-01T13:26:46","modified_gmt":"2022-07-01T20:26:46","slug":"man-sentenced-to-federal-prison-for-conspiring-to-help-foreign-terrorists-isis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=50219","title":{"rendered":"Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Conspiring to Help Foreign Terrorists \u2014 ISIS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"node-title\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3918 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Department-of-Justice-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Department-of-Justice-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Department-of-Justice-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Department-of-Justice.png 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Two men were sentenced Friday for conspiring to provide material support to the designated foreign terrorist organization the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham\/Syria (ISIS), officials stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-pr-body field--type-text-long field--label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__items\">\n<div class=\"field__item even\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Kristopher Sean Matthews, aka Ali Jibreel, 36, of South Carolina, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, and Jaylyn Christopher Molina, aka Abdur Rahim, 24, of Cost, Texas, was sentenced to 18 years in prison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">According to court documents, since May 2019, Matthews conspired with Molina to provide services to ISIS by administering an encrypted, members-only chat group for persons who supported ISIS ideology; by collecting, generating, and disseminating pro-ISIS propaganda; and by disseminating firearms training materials and bomb-making instructions to each other and to other members of the chat group and others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">On Nov. 24, 2020, and Jan. 25, 2021, Matthews and Molina, respectively, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to ISIS. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-50110 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/9z9fxr_7z-k-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"brown mallet on gray wooden surface\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/9z9fxr_7z-k-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/9z9fxr_7z-k-731x1024.jpg 731w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/9z9fxr_7z-k-768x1075.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/9z9fxr_7z-k.jpg 857w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/>In addition, Molina pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">At Friday\u2019s sentencing, Molina received another 216 months, to run concurrently, for the child pornography charge. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Both men have remained in federal custody since their arrests on Sept. 21, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The San Antonio FBI\u2019s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), with valuable assistance from the San Antonio Police Department, the U.S. Secret Service and the Gonzalez County Sheriff\u2019s Office, investigated this case.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mark Roomberg, William R. Harris and Eric Fuchs for the Western District of Texas and Trial Attorney George C. Kraehe and former Trial Attorney Felice J.
