DeShawn Torrence, 38, of Corcoran, California, engaged in various forms of nonconsensual sexual conduct, ranging from directing a victim to remove her clothing without a legitimate law enforcement purpose to forcing his victims to engage in sex acts, all while serving as a police officer.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4J5a9AZEoNA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"field__item even\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Torrence is no longer employed by the Sanger Police Department. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">If convicted of the charges, Torrence faces up to life in prison,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">This case is being investigated by the FBI Sacramento Field Office with assistance from the Fresno County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Special Litigation Counsel Fara Gold of the Criminal Section of the Justice Department\u2019s Civil Rights Division and Assistant U.S. Attorney Karen Escobar are prosecuting the
