Without a Firearms License, Dozens of Guns Found at His Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0LOS ANGELES\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5414 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/U.S.-Department-of-Homeland-Security-300x184.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/U.S.-Department-of-Homeland-Security-300x184.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/U.S.-Department-of-Homeland-Security.jpg 584w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>A San Bernardino County man \u2013 at whose home dozens of illegal firearms lacking serial numbers, commonly known as \u201cghost guns,\u201d allegedly were found \u2013 was arrested Friday on a federal criminal complaint alleging he acted as an unlicensed firearms dealer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Puleaga Pele, 44, of Hesperia, was arrested at his residence Friday as law enforcement executed a search warrant. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">He is charged with one count of unlicensed dealing in firearms.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Hc4ylVn-MO8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0According to an affidavit filed with the complaint, in July 2022, law enforcement searched a San Fernando Valley residence as part of a separate investigation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">While reviewing the digital device of a target of the investigation, law enforcement allegedly discovered communications in which an individual \u2013 later identified as Pele \u2013 offered to sell the target of an investigation multiple firearms, which appeared to be of the unknown manufacturer and without a serial number.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Law enforcement later traced the firearms to Pele\u2019s residence, which was searched this morning pursuant to a warrant, the affidavit states. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Inside Pele\u2019s house and in a Hummer truck in the garage, law enforcement allegedly found a total of 33 firearms, of which 10 were privately manufactured firearms (a.k.a. \u201cghost guns\u201d), a stolen firearm, a machine gun, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and assorted high- capacity magazines and firearm parts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 According to the affidavit, Pele does not have a federal firearms license for buying or selling firearms. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If convicted of this charge, Pele faces up to five years in federal prison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Homeland Security Investigations and the Los Angeles Police Department are investigating this matter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1673592828MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assistant United States Attorneys Jeffrey M.
