LOS ANGELES\u00a0\u2013 A Florida man was charged Thursday<\/span>\u00a0with trafficking in counterfeit electronic engine control devices manufactured and marketed by a Southern California company.<\/span><\/div>\n
The devices are for use in modified Honda and Acura vehicles, federal prosecutors said.<\/span><\/div>\n
Marc Heera, 24, of Sunrise, Florida, was charged with one count of trafficking in counterfeit goods. He is facing up to10 years in prison if he is convicted of the charge, authorities said.<\/span><\/div>\n
Federal officials said Heera already agreed to plead charge to a criminal complaint filed Thursday morning\u00a0<\/span>to the felony offense of selling counterfeit circuit boards that are installed in engine control units to boost performance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
