Penny attempt to burn the church to the ground, officials stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">He was also indicted on one count of using fire to commit a federal felony, one count of malicious use of explosive materials and one count of possessing a destructive device.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1Aez3YM0aaI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-pr-body field--type-text-long field--label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__items\">\n<div class=\"field__item even\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">According to court documents, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Penny, 20, of Alliance, attempted to burn the church to the ground after learning the church was holding multiple drag show events the following weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6328 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/FBI-Logo-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/FBI-Logo-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/FBI-Logo-45x35.jpg 45w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/FBI-Logo.jpg 534w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Penny was initially arrested and charged with federal offenses on March 31.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">If convicted, Penny faces\u00a0 to 20 years in prison for the violation of the Church Arson Prevention Act. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Penny also faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in prison for the malicious use of explosive materials charge an<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">d up to 10 years in prison for the possession of a destructive device charge. In addition, if convicted of using fire to commit a federal felony, Penny faces a 10-year mandatory prison sentence that will run consecutively with any other prison term imposed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The FBI Cleveland Field Office is investigating the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Assistant U.S. Attorneys Brian Deckert and Matthew W. Shepherd for the Northern District of Ohio and Trial Attorneys Jacob Warren and Justin Sher of the National Security Division\u2019s Counterterrorism Section are prosecuting the
