Schwartz and Markus Maly &#8211; at the area of the Lower West Terrace of the Capitol Building. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 20px;\">Brown was handed an O.C. spray canister by Schwartz, who had stolen it from an MPD duffle bag. As the crowd heaved against the makeshift police line, Brown sprayed them with the OC spray, officials stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 20px;\">The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the District of Columbia and the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Central District of California, with assistance from the FBI\u2019s Washington and Los Angeles Offices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: helvetica;\">In the 27 months since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 1,000 individuals have been arrested in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 320 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, officials stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: helvetica;\">The investigation remains
