\u00a0 Los Angeles police officer was found guilty Thursday of forcibly raping a woman while he was off-duty in 2015, according to officials.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cToday, justice has been served for one of the victims of a heinous crime committed by a police officer who was entrusted with protecting and serving our community,\u201d District At<\/span>\"\"torney George Gasc\u00f3n said. \u201cWhile we are disappointed that the defendant was not found guilty on the count of rape on a second victim, we want to commend the bravery of both victims who came forward to report these crimes. We understand that coming forward and testifying in court is not easy, and we appreciate their courage in doing so.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jurors deliberated for 1 \u00bd days before finding William Rodriguez,\u00a0 37, guilty of one count of forcible rape. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 10.<\/span><\/p>\n
