Bendawald allegedly sexually abused women and exchanging favorable police treatment for sexual acts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Former Caldwell police officer indicted on charges of sexually abusing women\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PVYVg96zy4A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">According to court documents, Bendawald, 41, of Franklin, Tennessee, allegedly abused his position as a law enforcement officer by sexually victimizing women in Idaho. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-14844 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/FBI-Logo-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/FBI-Logo-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/FBI-Logo-45x35.jpg 45w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/FBI-Logo.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>From at least 2017 until 2021, Bendawald allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with at least seven women he encountered during his law enforcement duties. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Bendawald is also alleged to have exchanged and offered to exchange favorable police treatment for sex and sexual favors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Bendawald is charged with two felony counts of deprivation of rights under color of law, five felony counts of federal program bribery, and one misdemeanor count of deprivation of rights under color of law.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"> If convicted on all counts, Bendawald faces up to life in prison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The FBI Salt Lake City Field Office, Boise Resident Agency, is investigating the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Trial Attorneys Jordan Dickson and Kathryn E. Fifield of the Criminal Division\u2019s Public Integrity Section and Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney Katherine L.
