Specifically, the defendants are engaged in the mailing and shipping of methamphetamine from Los Angeles County to New Zealand and Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The following defendants were arrested on Wednesday and are scheduled to be arraigned in federal court on Thursday:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"yiv0835296327MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Yangqiang Chen, 45, of Monterey Park;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"yiv0835296327MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Jie Chen, 40, of Rosemead;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"yiv0835296327MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">MeiMei Chen, 41, of Rosemead;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"yiv0835296327MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Guorong He, 50, of Rosemead; and<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"yiv0835296327MsoListParagraphCxSpLast\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Yien He, 32, of Rosemead.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Zuxing Lin, 44, of Rosemead, is currently a fugitive. Xingyun Chen, 54, is currently in Louisiana in immigration custody.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15321 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DEA-IMAGE-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DEA-IMAGE-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DEA-IMAGE.jpg 540w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>As part of this investigation, law enforcement has seized 91 packages of methamphetamine destined for foreign countries. In those packages, law enforcement seized almost 200 kilograms of methamphetamine. The value of the drugs seized, if sold in Australia and New Zealand, exceeds $20 million, according to law enforcement estimates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">During search warrants executed today at three locations in Rosemead and Monterey Park, law enforcement seized approximately 40 pounds of methamphetamine, more than $100,000 in cash, and more than 1,000 gift cards from various retailers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">According to the indictment returned on Tuesday, defendants Yangqiang Chen and Jie Chen ordered and received items from online retailers, such as spools of 3D printing filament, utility cases, wine opener sets, and drive shafts, for use in concealing methamphetamine in international shipments to foreign drug customers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-595 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/FBI-IMAGE-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"FBI Photo\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/FBI-IMAGE-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/FBI-IMAGE-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/FBI-IMAGE-1024x1021.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Zuxing Lin, Meimei Chen, Xingyun Chen, Guorong He, and Yien He packaged the methamphetamine at a residence in Monterey Park and elsewhere, for delivery to foreign drug customers. Yangqiang Chen, Zuxing Lin, Meimei Chen, Xingyun Chen, and Yien He delivered the packages containing methamphetamine to UPS stores and international shipping companies so they could be shipped to foreign drug customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">If convicted of all charges, each defendant would face a statutory maximum sentence of life in federal prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, IRS Criminal Investigation, the Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Department, and the United States Postal Inspection Service are investigating this matter.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv0835296327MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer L.
