\"FBIA Long Beach man has been arrested on a federal criminal complaint alleging he traveled with a 14-year-old runaway from Arizona \u2013 whom he met in a Reddit internet forum \u2013 across state lines to his apartment, officials stated.<\/p>\n

There, he engaged in criminal sexual activity with her, the Justice Department announced today.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trevon Nathaniel Langstaff, 32, is charged with transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Langstaff was arrested at his residence early\u00a0<\/b>Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 According to an affidavit filed with the complaint, law enforcement officials on Tuesday received a report of a missing 14-year-old girl who ran away from a residence in Arizona.<\/p>\n

Early Tuesday morning, the victim\u2019s family discovered she was missing.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \"\"\u00a0 The victim\u2019s family searched for the girl in the neighborhood and reached out to her friends for information about the victim\u2019s whereabouts and learned that the victim \u2013 one week earlier \u2013 said that she was planning to run away from home.<\/p>\n

The victim also told a friend that she had met a man who harbored runaways and who currently had two other teenagers staying with him, and that he would give her a cell phone and a room in which to stay, the affidavit alleges.<\/p>\n

The victim and Langstaff allegedly met on a Reddit internet forum about runaways. According to the affidavit, a phone record search revealed numerous contacts between them.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Early Wednesday morning, law enforcement officials visited Langstaff\u2019s Long Beach apartment to locate and rescue the victim. The victim was found hidden in a closet at Langstaff\u2019s apartment, the affidavit alleges.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The victim said Langstaff and she engaged in sexual contact after they arrived at his apartment.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/i> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If convicted, Langstaff is facing up to life in prison<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The FBI and the Long Beach Police Department are investigating this matter.<\/p>\n
