According to officials, he has been in federal custody since November 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&#039;Timepiece Gentleman&#039; $5M Fraud Exposed: New Details\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2LAtNpYaUs8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>(News Report 2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">According to his plea agreement, from November 2022 to November 2023, Farrer used his business\u2014also called \u201cThe Timepiece Gentlemen&#8221;\u2014to connect purchasers and sellers of high-end watches. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">In a typical consignment sale, a client ships a watch to The Timepiece Gentleman, and Farrer takes possession of it. He agrees to display it at his Beverly Hills store and market it online and through social media. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9242 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Department-of-Justice-Loo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"355\" height=\"201\" \/>The items involved in this case included luxury watches by Rolex, Richard Mille, and Patek Phillipe, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Once the watch was sold, Farrer was supposed to remit the sales proceeds back to the client minus a consignment fee, which typically was approximately 5% of the sales price. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">If the watch did not sell within a specific time or for a specified price, Farrer was to return it to the client.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">However, instead of remitting watch sales proceeds\u2014or the unsold watches themselves\u2014back to the clients, Farrer sold the client watches and kept the proceeds for himself. He also used client watches\u2014without the client\u2019s knowledge or permission\u2014as collateral for loans that he took out from lenders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When a client asked about the status of a watch on consignment sale, Farrer lied and said that the watch had not yet been sold. These clients were unaware Farrer was using their watches for that purpose, rather than attempting to sell the watches on behalf of the clients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Farrer fraudulently obtained money and property belonging to more than 40 victims and caused total losses of at least $5.6 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">U.S. District Judge Josephine L. Staton scheduled a Jan. 31, sentencing hearing. At that hearing, Farrer will face up to 20 years in federal prison for each count.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The FBI, IRS Criminal Investigation, and the Beverly Hills Police Department investigated this matter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4202327256MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua O.
