John Roberts didn\u2019t just preside over the decay of the Supreme Court\u2019s legitimacy\u2014he handed the keys to the wrecking ball.<\/span><\/p>\n

With Citizens United<\/em>, Roberts greenlit the wholesale auctioning of American democracy, declaring that corporations are people and billionaires like Elon Musk are free to bankroll their favorite ideologues straight onto the bench. He turned the Court into a showroom for oligarchs and autocrats.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then came the Roberts Court\u2019s gift to Trump: a warped notion of “qualified immunity” that all but wrapped the former president in legal bubble wrap. It whispered to the Orange Messiah, \u201cGo ahead\u2014kill your enemies, violate the Constitution, just don\u2019t forget to tweet about it.\u201d Accountability? That\u2019s for peasants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the MAGA mascots\u2014Clarence \u201cUncle Thomas\u201d Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Neil Gorsuch\u2014continue rubber-stamping theocratic fever dreams and autocratic fantasies. They don\u2019t interpret law; they channel Fox News talking points in legalese.<\/span><\/p>\n

Roberts knows Trump isn\u2019t just looming\u2014he\u2019s licking his chops at the prospect of reshaping the court further, replacing justices, ignoring rulings, and blowing past precedent like a dictator in waiting. Project 2025 is the blueprint, and Roberts has spent the last decade clearing the path.<\/span><\/p>\n
