Soucy Jr., 72, of Columbia, admitted to prescribing opioids from his home despite knowing that local pharmacies wouldn\u2019t fill them. He directed a patient to fill the prescriptions at a pharmacy outside the area and continued prescribing to that patient\u2014who had a known substance abuse disorder\u2014even after the patient moved out of New England and without performing medical evaluations or tests.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"668\" data-end=\"800\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Dr. Soucy faces up to 20 years in prison. He has surrendered his DEA registration and can no longer prescribe controlled substances, officials state.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mt-3 w-full
