\"\"A former FBI procurement official and his sister have agreed to plead guilty to a conspiracy scheme that defrauded the U.S. government of at least $350,000 in FBI electronics contracts, officials announced Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jeffrey Spencer, 51, a lead electronics technician at the FBI\u2019s Los Angeles Field Office, and his sister, Christy Evereklian, 43, of Temecula, were charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States. <\/span><\/p>\n

Both will plead guilty to the felony, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison.<\/span><\/p>\n

From 2015 to 2020, Spencer used his position to steer FBI contracts to companies controlled by Evereklian. The pair rigged the bidding process by deciding in advance which of her companies would submit the lowest bid.<\/span><\/p>\n

To disguise the fraud, Evereklian submitted fake bids under the names of relatives and used a random number generator to make the bids appear legitimate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her companies were awarded over $350,000 in contracts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The case was investigated by the DOJ Office of Inspector General as part of the Procurement Collusion Strike Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Pang is prosecuting the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
