He is scheduled for arraignment this afternoon in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"658\" data-end=\"694\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Others charged and arrested include:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"974\">\n<li data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"788\">\n<p data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"788\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"718\">Yevgeni Gershman<\/strong>, 49 (\u201cGiora\u201d), of Woodland Hills \u2013 suspected organized crime figure<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"789\" data-end=\"841\">\n<p data-start=\"791\" data-end=\"841\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong data-start=\"791\" data-end=\"812\">Evgenni Tourevski<\/strong>, 48 (\u201cEugene\u201d), of Tarzana<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"892\">\n<p data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"892\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"861\">Allan Austria<\/strong>, 52 (\u201cElica\u201d), of West Hills<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"893\" data-end=\"935\">\n<p data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"935\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"910\">Yarin Cohen<\/strong>, 27 (\u201cYC\u201d), of Tarzana<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"974\">\n<p data-start=\"938\" data-end=\"974\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong data-start=\"938\" data-end=\"956\">Ievgen Krachun<\/strong>, 43, of Tarzana<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1045\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Each faces two counts related to operating the illegal gambling ring.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_59296\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-59296\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-59296 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/download-8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-59296\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1292\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">According to the indictment unsealed Wednesday, from September 2021 to July 2022, Arenas leased his Encino property for poker games. At his direction, associate Arthur Kats staged the home, recruited game hosts, and collected rent on Arenas\u2019 behalf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1294\" data-end=\"1694\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Gershman, Tourevski, Austria, and Cohen allegedly ran illegal \u201cPot Limit Omaha\u201d games, collected rake fees, and invited players. Gershman also hired women to serve drinks, offer massages and companionship \u2014 in exchange for tips and a cut taken by organizers. Chefs, valets, and armed security staffed the games. Krachun acted as a \u201cchip runner,\u201d tracking wins and losses and distributing poker chips.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"1991\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Gershman also faces additional charges alongside <strong data-start=\"1745\" data-end=\"1767\">Valentina Cojocari<\/strong>, 35, for allegedly entering a sham marriage to fraudulently obtain U.S. legal status. Both allegedly lied on immigration forms, concealing Gershman&#8217;s criminal activity and prior detentions. Cojocari was also arrested today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1993\" data-end=\"2077\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">If convicted, each defendant faces up to <strong data-start=\"2034\" data-end=\"2076\">five years in federal prison per count<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"2079\" data-end=\"2266\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (Northridge), the LAPD\u2019s Major Crimes Division \u2013 Transnational
