Trump, his stooges, lapdogs, and sycophants\u2014along with Watters and Fox\u2014have long trafficked in lies and hate speech, all for votes, profits, and ratings. A few years back, they peddled the poisonous myth of an \u201cinvasion\u201d of Mexicans and Brown people.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

That lie didn\u2019t emerge from thin air. In 2019, Patrick Wood Crusius swallowed it whole, walked into an El Paso Walmart armed with a rifle, and murdered 23 people because he believed he was defending Texas from a so-called Mexican \u201cinvasion.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

But the script he repeated came from above.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Trump bellowed \u201cThis is an invasion\u201d from the White House lawn to campaign stages, turning migrants into enemy combatants. Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick echoed him from Austin, stamping \u201cinvasion\u201d into official Texas letters. Kristi Noem stood before Congress and branded the border a \u201cwar zone.\u201d Lou Dobbs, night after night on Fox, sneered about an \u201cillegal alien invasion,\u201d pumping venom into millions of homes.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Crusius didn\u2019t invent this hate. He acted it out with bullets. The blood in El Paso stains not only his hands but every demagogue who weaponized the word \u201cinvasion\u201d for political points and television profits.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
