White found Wenger guilty of joining others in the Antioch Police Department to use excessive force to injure, threaten, or intimidate community members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u2018Brutal, inhumane&#039;: Troubling video released in 2021 Antioch police incident\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jirhZSbVtdc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>NEWS REPORT LAST YEAR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"104\" data-end=\"453\" data-speechifyplaybackhighlighter-highlight=\"true\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">At trial, evidence showed former Antioch officer Devon Wenger conspired with fellow officers Morteza Amiri and Eric Rombough to use excessive force on residents, including deploying a K9, firing a 40mm \u201cless lethal\u201d launcher, and other unlawful violence. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"104\" data-end=\"453\" data-speechifyplaybackhighlighter-highlight=\"true\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Prosecutors said Wenger treated force as punishment and concealed it in reports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"455\" data-end=\"631\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The jury found him guilty of conspiracy against rights\u00a0but a second charge\u2014deprivation of rights under color of law was dismissed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"633\" data-end=\"849\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Wenger had already been convicted in April 2025 of steroid distribution conspiracy and obstruction of justice. He was remanded pending sentencing on Dec. 2.
