In the messages, prosecutors allege, Bardunias detailed plans to rape, strangle and torture the child.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1114\" data-end=\"1283\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Authorities said Bardunias drove to Warren County to meet the teenager and brought candy intended to put her at ease. He was taken into custody shortly after arriving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1285\" data-end=\"1540\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">A subsequent search of his home uncovered a box containing sex toys, restraints and a knife, prosecutors said. Investigators allege the items matched the description of a \u201ctorture chamber\u201d Bardunias had told the undercover officer he planned to prepare.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1542\" data-end=\"1609\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Bardunias remains in federal custody pending further proceedings. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.\u00a0 If convicted of the charges, he is facing up to life in prison.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALBANY, N.Y.
