CLEVELAND\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

What began as a routine warrant arrest turned into hours of tense standoff on Oct. 15, when deputies with the U.S. Marshals Service arrived at a Cleveland apartment to take Larry Leon Dwight Wiley<\/strong> into custody, according to federal officials.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead of surrendering, Wiley, 55, barricaded himself inside. When officers forced their way in, he allegedly leveled a .380-caliber handgun and opened fire. One deputy U.S. Marshal was hit in the arm and rushed to a nearby hospital. He is expected to recover.<\/span><\/p>\n

The confrontation ended with Wiley in custody. Wiley was ordered held without bond while the case proceeds.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
