If you\u2019ve been wondering why Fox isn\u2019t leading the hour with Epstein\u2019s documents, photos, and the ugly paper trail<\/strong>, start with the simplest explanation: Fox\u2019s relationship with Trump\u2019s White House isn\u2019t just ideological \u2014 it\u2019s structural:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The pipeline is real. People also don\u2019t just go on Fox to praise Trump; they routinely end up inside his government<\/strong>, shaping what gets said, what gets emphasized, and what gets ignored. Now the latest twist<\/strong> \u2014 drop Smartmatic<\/strong> into that ecosystem:<\/span><\/p>\n

Smartmatic is the voting-technology company that sued Rupert Murdoch’s Fox for $2.7 billion<\/strong>, alleging Fox amplified Trump-world election lies about the 2020 vote. And that case has survived multiple early attempts to kill it \u2014 including a major January 9, 2025, New York appeals-court ruling that Fox Corp must face core parts of the defamation claim. On October 16, 2025<\/strong>, federal prosecutors in the Southern District of Florida announced a superseding indictment<\/strong> naming Smartmatic in an alleged scheme involving foreign bribery and money laundering<\/strong> tied to contracts connected to the 2016 Philippine national elections<\/strong>. Department of Justice<\/span>+1<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span> Smartmatic flatly denied the allegations and portrayed them as politically driven. AP News<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And Fox immediately tried to turn that indictment into a legal crowbar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fox asked the New York court to pause (stay) Smartmatic\u2019s defamation case<\/strong>, arguing the criminal prosecution would reshape everything. <\/span><\/p>\n

But on November 24, 2025<\/strong>, a New York judge denied Fox\u2019s bid to pause the case<\/strong>, keeping it on track toward the pretrial<\/strong> phase. Courthouse News<\/span>+1<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
