Jeff Bezos<\/span><\/span> drove a world-class newspaper straight into the mud so he could score a Mar-a-Lago invite from his new pal, Donald Trump<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s the trade: journalistic credibility for proximity to power.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is what selling your soul looks like.<\/span><\/p>\n

If Bezos has even a shred of self-respect left, he should unload The Washington Post<\/span><\/span> to someone who actually understands accuracy, fairness, balance \u2014 and the First Amendment. Someone who believes a newsroom exists to hold power accountable, not audition for cocktail hours at Mar-a-Lago<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Until then, the rest of the country should vote with its wallet: boycott Amazon<\/span><\/span> and Whole Foods Market<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

And if Democrats ever grow a spine in Congress, they should break Bezos\u2019 monopoly grip on commerce and media \u2014 and shut down this billionaire cosplay of buying America one influence deal at a time.<\/span><\/p>\n

No one elected Jeff Bezos.<\/span><\/p>\n
