LOS ANGELES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Federal authorities arrested four alleged Sinaloa Cartel<\/span><\/span>-linked defendants \u2014 members of the same family \u2014 in a 29-count federal grand jury indictment<\/strong> accusing them of trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine and firearms, including unserialized \u201cghost guns,\u201d officials announced Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Three of the defendants are described as Mexican nationals without legal status in the United States, according to prosecutors.<\/span><\/p>\n

The defendants were arrested Wednesday and are expected to appear in United States District Court<\/span><\/span> in downtown Los Angeles<\/strong> for arraignment.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Authorities are searching for a fifth defendant, Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel L\u00f3pez Paniagua, 23, of Littlerock.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Prosecutors allege Salazar-Cruz, Alfonso Salazar and Jorge Humberto Salazar are brothers, and Jos\u00e9 Manuel Salazar is Salazar-Cruz\u2019s son.<\/span><\/p>\n

    All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Allegations detail drug and gun trafficking network<\/h2>\n

      According to the indictment, from February 2024 to December 2025<\/strong>, Salazar-Cruz used encrypted messaging apps, phone calls and in-person meetings to coordinate drug and firearms sales.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Co-defendants allegedly brokered deals between suppliers and buyers and handled transactions directly.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Investigators documented multiple sales involving pound-level quantities of methamphetamine<\/strong>. In one instance, prosecutors allege Salazar-Cruz sold nearly one pound of meth and 324 grams of fentanyl<\/strong> in a single deal.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Other transactions included:<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      • 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine<\/strong> in July 2025<\/span><\/li>\n
      • 2.3 kilograms of methamphetamine<\/strong> in December 2025<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Authorities also allege the group sold multiple firearms between December 2024 and July 2025<\/strong>, including:<\/span><\/p>\n

        • A Glock .45-caliber pistol<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
        • A street-sweeper destructive device<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
        • An unserialized AR-style \u201cghost gun\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Cross-border supply allegations<\/span><\/h2>\n

          Prosecutors allege the drugs originated in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico<\/strong>, transported across the border by trailer.<\/span><\/p>\n

          According to court documents, L\u00f3pez Paniagua allegedly obtained narcotics from members of the Sinaloa cartel and supplied them to Salazar-Cruz in exchange for payment.<\/span><\/p>\n
