As officers attempted to detain him, he allegedly grabbed one officer and began stabbing him in the <strong data-start=\"1880\" data-end=\"1898\">head and torso, according to officials.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1901\" data-end=\"1990\"><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">Despite being wounded, the officer and his partner continued struggling with the suspect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1992\" data-end=\"2246\"><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">Two <strong data-start=\"1996\" data-end=\"2061\">federal air marshals with the Department of Homeland Security<\/strong> who were nearby intervened and assisted in subduing Fernandez, authorities said. He continued resisting before being taken into custody. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1992\" data-end=\"2246\"><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">Investigators recovered the knife at the scene.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"2248\" data-end=\"2383\"><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">The injured officer suffered <strong data-start=\"2277\" data-end=\"2319\">multiple non-life-threatening injuries<\/strong> and was transported to a hospital, where he was later released.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"2385\" data-end=\"2475\"><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">The incident was captured on <strong data-start=\"2414\" data-end=\"2458\">surveillance video and body-worn cameras<\/strong>, officials said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"2477\" data-end=\"2646\"><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">Fernandez was charged April 21.
