That\u2019s not a minor adjustment; it would undercut a 75-year-old alliance that anchors U.S. power <\/strong>in Europe and serves as a primary deterrent against Russian aggression.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even the suggestion of reduced<\/strong> U.S. commitment weakens NATO cohesion,<\/strong> invites strategic probing by Russia, and gives China more room to test Western resolve elsewhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Hegseth is on Capitol Hill assuring Americans that a U.S.-Israel strike on Iran would enhance U.S. security<\/strong>\u2014an argument that ignores two decades of costly Middle East entanglements and their mixed, often destabilizing outcomes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The subtext is hard to miss: allies who hesitate to follow Washington into another regional conflict are treated as liabilities, while withdrawal from NATO is reframed as \u201cstrength.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s grievance masquerading as strategy. Trump being butt-hurt with a bruised ego.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At this pace, it\u2019s not far-fetched to imagine the next briefing\u2014where expanding U.S. control over places like Greenland or the Panama Canal <\/strong>is pitched as essential to national security.<\/span><\/p>\n
