289px) 100vw, 289px\" \/>SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2014 A San Antonio man identified by federal prosecutors as an administrator of the <strong data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"672\">8884 extremist network<\/strong>, a group linked to the <strong data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"736\">764 online violent extremist network<\/strong>, was sentenced Wednesday to <strong data-start=\"765\" data-end=\"795\">40 years in federal prison, officials announced this week.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p title=\"\" data-start=\"549\" data-end=\"942\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The defendant ordered to pay <strong data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"870\">$10,000 in restitution<\/strong> for <strong data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"891\">racketeering<\/strong> and multiple <strong data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"934\">child sexual exploitation<\/strong> crimes<\/span><\/p>\n<p title=\"\" data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"1215\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">According to court records, <strong data-start=\"972\" data-end=\"996\">Alexis Aldair Chavez<\/strong>, 19, also known online as <strong data-start=\"1023\" data-end=\"1033\">&#8220;Zack&#8221;<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1038\" data-end=\"1053\">&#8220;Zack8884,&#8221;<\/strong> served as an online leader of the <strong data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1104\">8884 network<\/strong>, which prosecutors described as a <strong data-start=\"1139\" data-end=\"1177\">Nihilistic Violent Extremist (NVE)<\/strong> organization associated with <strong data-start=\"1207\" data-end=\"1214\">764<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p title=\"\" data-start=\"1217\" data-end=\"1555\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Federal authorities said the network targeted vulnerable minors through <strong data-start=\"1289\" data-end=\"1305\">social media<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1307\" data-end=\"1333\">messaging applications<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1335\" data-end=\"1355\">gaming platforms<\/strong>, chat rooms and video services, coercing victims into acts of <strong data-start=\"1418\" data-end=\"1431\">self-harm<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1433\" data-end=\"1456\">sexual exploitation<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1476\">animal cruelty<\/strong>, and other violent conduct to elevate members&#8217; status within the online group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1557\" data-end=\"1765\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Court documents state that in <strong data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1603\">October 2023<\/strong>, Chavez and a co-conspirator allegedly attempted to coerce a minor girl into <strong data-start=\"1681\" data-end=\"1692\">suicide<\/strong> during a video chat by overdosing on pills while recording the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1767\" data-end=\"1888\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Investigators said Chavez later participated in multiple schemes involving minor victims, including coercing children to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1890\" data-end=\"2093\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1k9c9yp\" data-start=\"1890\" data-end=\"1932\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Engage in sexually explicit acts online.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"18ouko0\" data-start=\"1933\" data-end=\"1960\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Inflict severe self-harm.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1dxhdpr\" data-start=\"1961\" data-end=\"1986\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Attempt drug overdoses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1dywc9v\" data-start=\"1987\" data-end=\"2005\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Burn themselves.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"151eunt\" data-start=\"2006\" data-end=\"2038\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Carve names into their bodies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1hjwvha\" data-start=\"2039\" data-end=\"2093\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Torture and kill an animal during a live video call.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2095\" data-end=\"2191\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Federal prosecutors said Chavez also helped extort victims overseas through online exploitation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2193\" data-end=\"2279\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Chavez was arrested on <strong data-start=\"2216\" data-end=\"2233\">Oct. 24, 2024<\/strong>, and pleaded guilty on <strong data-start=\"2257\" data-end=\"2274\">Dec. 19, 2025<\/strong>, to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2281\" data-end=\"2397\">\n<li data-section-id=\"c942b4\" data-start=\"2281\" data-end=\"2299\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong data-start=\"2283\" data-end=\"2299\">Racketeering<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"104a4a4\" data-start=\"2300\" data-end=\"2349\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong data-start=\"2302\" data-end=\"2349\">Distribution of child sexual abuse material<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1cn5mp0\" data-start=\"2350\" data-end=\"2397\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong data-start=\"2352\" data-end=\"2397\">Possession of child sexual abuse material<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2399\" data-end=\"2517\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The <strong data-start=\"2403\" data-end=\"2435\">FBI San Antonio Field Office<\/strong>, with assistance from the <strong data-start=\"2462\" data-end=\"2493\">FBI Washington Field Office<\/strong>, investigated the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2519\" data-end=\"2733\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Federal officials urged parents to remain actively involved in their children&#8217;s online activity, monitor communications, recognize warning
