\"\"LOS ANGELES<\/strong> \u2014 A Calabasas man<\/strong> was sentenced Thursday to 27 years in federal prison<\/strong> for operating a drug delivery network prosecutors described as a “DoorDash for drugs<\/strong>” service that distributed fentanyl-laced pills<\/strong> across Los Angeles and Ventura counties, causing two fatal overdoses, officials announced Thursday.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Erick Oved Estrada, 37<\/strong>, also known as “Franco Sanchez”<\/strong> and “Eric Freddy Hook,”<\/strong> received a 324-month prison sentence<\/strong> from U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald, who also ordered him to pay $43,145 in restitution<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Estrada has remained in federal custody since November 2023<\/strong>. He pleaded guilty in October 2025<\/strong> to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances resulting in death<\/strong> and distribution of fentanyl resulting in death<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \"\"According to court records, Estrada operated the drug trafficking operation from May 2019 through March 2023<\/strong>, supplying cocaine and counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Federal prosecutors said Estrada used a network of delivery drivers to transport narcotics directly to customers and other dealers throughout Southern California, collecting payment in a manner resembling a commercial food delivery service.<\/span><\/p>\n

    One of the fatal overdoses occurred after Estrada sold 25 fentanyl-laced counterfeit oxycodone pills<\/strong> on June 8, 2022<\/strong>, to co-defendant Arian Alani, 37<\/strong>, a Danish national living in Burbank who worked as one of Estrada’s delivery drivers.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The following day, Alani sold some of the pills to a victim identified in court documents as “C.N.”<\/strong> The victim died after ingesting the counterfeit pills.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Two days later, Alani texted Estrada, warning him that “my boy just died yesterday<\/strong>” and accusing him of selling pills containing fentanyl.<\/span><\/p>\n

    A second fatal overdose occurred in March 2023<\/strong>, when a victim identified as “S.M.”<\/strong> arranged to purchase two Xanax pills and two oxycodone pills for $80<\/strong>. Court documents state Estrada directed one of his drivers to deliver counterfeit pills containing fentanyl.<\/span><\/p>\n

    After returning home, S.M. ingested the drugs and died from a fatal fentanyl overdose<\/strong>, prosecutors said.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Alani pleaded guilty in September 2025<\/strong> to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl<\/strong>.
