He later began arranging maritime smuggling operations for other traffickers before establishing his own organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1143\" data-end=\"1295\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">One of those operations involved the Fat Crow, a Togolese-flagged cargo ship intercepted by the U.S. Coast Guard in international waters in August 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1417\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Authorities found nine people and approximately 1,500 kilograms \u2014 more than 3,300 pounds \u2014 of cocaine aboard the vessel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1419\" data-end=\"1638\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Cardenas-Iguaran admitted helping plan the operation and arrange its logistics.
