\"\"INDIANAPOLIS \u2014<\/strong> An Illinois man who terrorized Burger King employees during a $459 armed robbery and then fled police in a high-speed, multi-county chase has been sentenced to 33 years in federal prison, officials announced Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cameron Love, 28, of Rockford, Illinois, also was ordered to serve five years of supervised release after completing his prison term.<\/span><\/p>\n

A federal jury convicted Love in February of interference with commerce by robbery, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.<\/span><\/p>\n

The robbery unfolded Jan. 16, 2025, inside a Burger King at 7620 N. Shadeland Ave. in Indianapolis.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to trial evidence, Love entered the restaurant carrying a 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun and paced near the front counter. When an employee approached, Love pulled the gun from his coat pocket, pointed it at her and threatened to shoot her unless the cash registers were opened.<\/span><\/p>\n

The employee fled toward the kitchen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Love jumped over the counter, pointed the handgun at other employees and threatened to kill anyone who resisted. He grabbed $459 and escaped in a Chevrolet Cruze driven by Michael Scott, according to federal prosecutors.<\/span><\/p>\n

An employee immediately called 911 and gave police a description of Love and the getaway vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"FBIIndianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers spotted the Cruze near 86th Street and Keystone Avenue and attempted to stop it. The driver sped away, beginning a high-speed chase that crossed multiple counties and included a collision with another vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Police dashboard-camera footage showed Love throwing the stolen money and handgun from the Cruze during the pursuit, prosecutors said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The chase ended in Carmel, north of Indianapolis.<\/span><\/p>\n

Four days later, officers found the loaded handgun frozen in ice and protruding from snow near a bike path along 106th Street.<\/span><\/p>\n

Love continued threatening the Burger King employees after his arrest. While standing beside a police officer during an identification procedure, he warned the victims that he would kill them if they said anything, according to prosecutors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite those threats, both employees testified against him at trial.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Love was prohibited from possessing a firearm because of previous felony convictions, including the aggravated robbery of a gas station, during which he held a clerk at gunpoint and assaulted him, and a separate Illinois armed robbery.<\/span><\/p>\n

He committed the Burger King robbery only three months after being released on parole. He previously had received a 15-year sentence for aggravated robbery and a six-year sentence for armed robbery.<\/span><\/p>\n

U.S. District Judge James P. Hanlon imposed the 33-year sentence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scott, Love\u2019s co-defendant and getaway driver, was sentenced in October 2025 to four years in federal prison and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to acting as an accessory after the fact.<\/span><\/p>\n

The FBI and Indianapolis police investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Pamela Domash prosecuted it.<\/span><\/p>\n
