SEATTLE<\/strong> \u2014 A Seattle man who recruited and armed juveniles for a violent robbery spree that left a Tacoma marijuana dispensary employee dead was sentenced Friday to 17 years in federal prison, federal officials announced this week.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michael Keylon Miller-Jimerson, 26, pleaded guilty in February to armed bank robbery, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Prosecutors said he helped lead a series of armed robberies targeting marijuana dispensaries and banks throughout the Puget Sound region from December 2021 to June 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou and others went on a violent crime spree, terrorizing the community for your own personal gain,\u201d U.S. District Judge Lauren King said during sentencing. \u201cYou used juveniles \u2026 to commit the most dangerous part of the offenses. And you didn\u2019t stop after a man lost his life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

King said the lengthy sentence was necessary to protect the community.<\/span><\/p>\n
