{"id":62056,"date":"2026-10-26T20:47:29","date_gmt":"2026-10-27T03:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=62056"},"modified":"2026-10-26T21:12:54","modified_gmt":"2026-10-27T04:12:54","slug":"fort-riley-soldier-40-years-child-sexual-exploitation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=62056","title":{"rendered":"Feds:  Soldier pretends to be a woman to get minors to produce child pornography"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\">TOPEKA, Kan.<\/span><\/strong> \u2014 A 26-year-old U.S. Army soldier stationed at Fort Riley was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for coercing minors into producing child sexual abuse material, federal prosecutors announced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>Bebak Gurung, of Fort Riley<\/strong>, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor involving the production of child pornography, according to court documents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">The investigation began in 2025 after the FBI received information that a minor in New York had been sexually exploited through online messaging platforms. Investigators obtained saved communications between the victim and the perpetrator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"DOJ: Fort Riley soldier pretended to be a woman to coax children to send sexually explicit content\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N6uyNju7lTI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">FBI agents determined that Gurung had instructed the minor to record videos depicting sexually explicit conduct.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Investigators also established that Gurung was stationed at Fort Riley and had communicated with the victim while on the military installation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">During a search of Gurung&#8217;s barracks, federal agents seized several electronic devices containing child sexual abuse material. Evidence recovered from the devices led investigators to identify a second minor victim in Kansas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Federal prosecutors said Gurung had falsely presented himself as a female to gain the victims&#8217; trust.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">&#8220;Mr. Gurung lied to his two victims about being a female to more easily gain their trust, which is why we must teach our children that not everyone is who they say they are, particularly online,&#8221; U.S. Attorney Ryan A. Kriegshauser said. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">&#8220;Fortunately, parents were willing to report this crime to the proper authorities so that his actions could be exposed and ultimately
