LOS ANGELES – \u00a0<\/strong>A Littlerock man was sentenced today to 15 years to life in state prison for the killing of a Palmdale
\nwoman mauled by a pack of the defendant\u2019s pit bulls, the Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office\u00a0announced Friday<\/p>\n

Alex Donald Jackson<\/strong> was found guilty on Aug. 29 of second-degree murder, cultivating marijuana,
\npossession of marijuana for sale and possession of a controlled substance for sale, psilocybi.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lisa Chung imposed the sentence but delayed his transfer to state prison until Oct. 17 so Jackson can appear at a restitution hearing.<\/p>\n

Pamela Devitt, 63, was out for a walk on May 9, 2013 when she was attacked and killed by four pit bulls belonging to Jackson, according to court testimony. Evidence presented at trial also showed that other victims had been attacked by his pit bulls on several prior occasions.<\/p>\n

Jackson had a marijuana grow operation at his residence and a total of eight dogs were seized from his\u00a0house, prosecutors said. Four of the dogs had Devitt\u2019s DNA on their fur, prosecutors added.
