{"id":9659,"date":"2015-02-25T20:17:44","date_gmt":"2015-02-26T04:17:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=9659"},"modified":"2015-02-25T20:17:44","modified_gmt":"2015-02-26T04:17:44","slug":"revenge-porn-website-owner-pleads-guilty-to-hiring-a-man-to-hack-email-accounts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/?p=9659","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Revenge Porn&#8221; Website Owner Pleads Guilty to Hiring a Man to Hack Email Accounts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/FBI-Cyber-Crime.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-3660\" src=\"https:\/\/cjnotebook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/FBI-Cyber-Crime-150x143.jpg\" alt=\"FBI Cyber Crime\" width=\"150\" height=\"143\" \/><\/a>LOS ANGELES<\/strong> \u2013 A Northern California man who operated the Internet\u2019s best-known \u201crevenge porn\u201d website plead guilty Wednesday to federal computer hacking and identity theft charges for hiring another man to hack into e-mail accounts to steal nude photos that were later posted on his website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hunter Moore<\/strong>, 28, of Woodland, California, who operated the now-defunct isanyoneup.com, pleaded guilty today to one count of unauthorized access to a protected computer to obtain information for purposes of private financial gain and one count of aggravated identity theft.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of his guilty pleas, Moore faces up from two to seven years in federal prison.<\/p>\n<p>Sentencing is scheduled for June.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged hacker \u2013 <strong>Charles Evens<\/strong>, 26, of Studio City, California \u2013 still faces a host of federal charges and is scheduled to go on trial on March 17.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment alleges that Evens hacked into email accounts belonging to hundreds of victims.<\/p>\n<p>Evens faces charges contained in a 15-count grand jury indictment that accuses him of conspiracy, seven counts of unauthorized access to a protected computer to obtain information and seven counts of aggravated identity theft.<\/p>\n<p>Moore operated the website http:\/\/isanyoneup.com, where he posted, among other things, nude or sexually explicit photos of victims.<\/p>\n<p>The pictures were submitted by individuals, without the victim\u2019s permission, for purposes of revenge, Moore admitted in court.<\/p>\n<p>However, to obtain more photos for the website, Moore instructed Evens to gain unauthorized access to \u2013 in other words, to hack into \u2013 Google e-mail accounts, according to Moore\u2019s plea agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Moore sent payments to Evens in exchange for nude photos unlawfully obtained from the victims\u2019 accounts.
