Epps<\/strong>, and<strong> Cecil McCrory<\/strong>, a former Mississippi legislator, former Justice Court Judge, former Chairman of the Rankin County School Board, and a local businessman, entered guilty pleas this week to money laundering.<\/p>\n<p>Epps also pled guilty to one of filing a false tax return.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/afiThuo5v74\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Epps and McCrory are accused of being involved in a scheme in\u00a0which Mr. McCrory directed more than $1 million to Mr. Epps, including cash and mortgage payments, in exchange for lucrative state contracts, according to the indictment.<\/p>\n<p>Both men will be sentenced in June.<\/p>\n<p>The maximum penalty for money laundering conspiracy is 20 years in prison.
